Since she went to India in 1967 with the Baptist Missionary Society (BMS) she has worked at the Christian Medical College, Hospital in Vellore, then most recently at the Balanilayam Hostel where she cared for children of Indian missionaries. She gained a MBE for her work as a nurse there. Before her retirement from the hospital she was in charge of a 175 private patients block which included three intensive care units - corony care, renal transplants and bone marrow transplant. The last unit was of special interest to her.
At the beginning of 2007, Ann started working at the Christian Medical College Hospital (CMCH) in Vellore. Ann works in the Haematology department, doing pastoral work with families affected by cancer.
Ann also has an involvement in the local church includes leading Bible studies in a local village and taking Bible class for 14 to 16 year old girls on Sunday mornings.
Ann enjoys classical music and plays the flute when time allows. Reading (mainly non-fiction), walking and climbing are among her other interests.
Please pray:
- Health and strength for Ann
- Opportunities in this new ministry in the haematology department at CMCH
- The many young people Ann remains in contact with who passed through Balanilayam hostel
- That Ann will be able to exhibit God's grace and love at all times
